Well, this weekend, I put in a whole A/C vent cover….. ohhhh…. ahhhh….. We were gone on a retreat to Spring, TX, so we really didn’t get to work on the house. That and Katie had a killer project to finish for class.
This week end we did… once again… nothing on our house. It was a weekend of Birthday parties and a wedding. The wedding was at a really cool church that was well designed. Instead of stained glass, it has clear windows that you could see the scenery out of. But all the events were fun. Maybe next weekend we’ll get work done 🙂
We’ve been working on plans for our Master Bedroom – trying to figure out how to put a bathroom in there. There is room if we want to arrange it right – or fill in a window (which we want to avoid). Anybody good at crawling under houses and doing plumbing? We saw “The Core” last night. Being a former Earth Science teacher, I love movies like that. I could have really used that movie when I was teaching – and only one cuss word to edit!
Ethnomusicology – studying the music of a foreign culture with the goal of preserving it. I talk about it a lot now-a-days, so I thought it would be good to define it. I’m trying to convince some people at my church that this field has a great benefits for church work. But, anyway, I was listening to a Indian Christian group this morning – they are really good. See this page. They are called Aradhna (“worship” in hindi). It’s a good mix of east and west styles. That may be the next “big” thing in popular music – I’ve seen a lot more of it happening.
Well, we actually moved into the kitchen today – half of our stuff was sitting in another room. Actually, there is still stuff sitting in boxes in the back room. I guess we will get to that, soon. We saw “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” yesterday. There’s a woman in that league – makes the name kind of sexist…. Good movie, though.
You, know, I had a really cool thought yesterday, but I forgot it. Oh, well…. So, no cool thoughts today, or updates on the house. Or, updates on us really. Just seeing how long you will keep reading this before you realize that I am just wasting time – mostly yours 🙂 Because I could just go on and on about the Baylor controversy or war in Iraq or the most recent conspiracy theory that I heard that was obviously false, or …..
