The Remodeling Journals: Off-Color Tiles and Piney Woods
We haven’t worked much on the house this week due to a retreat. We did break out two tiles that were slightly off-colored and replaced them, but that is about it. We had a pretty good retreat, even though it was cold and we had to sleep in separate dorms 🙁 But the retreat center was in the piney woods around Huntsville, so at least there was a lot of beautiful scenery.
The Remodeling Journals: Kitchen Floors are in the Home Stretch!
We are both incredibly sore from this week end. We spent the whole time working on the kitchen floor, but it is now covered in beautiful blue tile! We need to do a few touch ups and then lay down the grout, but most of the work is done! I will post some pics on the house page today when I get a chance.
The Remodeling Journals: Seven Layers of Floor Make One Long Project
We got to finally get some more work done on our house – the kitchen floor! We had to remove a couple of layers first – 2 layers of linoleum, 1 layer of fiber-wood, and 1 layer of tile – to get to the sub floor. The tile was this really old tile that look like an orange topographic map. Today we will start laying down some tile. We also installed an electric doggie fence that is doing a great job keep our puppy from escaping!
