Before the Lesson:
Print out one copy of the Nutrition Plan Analysis handout [PDF, 13 kb] for each student.

You will also need to prepare a short warm-up lecture about how blogs can help us to track our thinking proces. Also, be prepared to answer questions related to lesson content.

Instructional Steps:
1.  Lecture about how blogs can help us to track our thinking proces
2.  Analyze nutrition analysis worksheet for lessons learned – learners will complete a worksheet that helps them analyze what they have learned through the process of analyzing their nutrition plan.
3.  Analyze nutrition plan for lessons learned – learners will continue the worksheet from the first step, which will help them analyze what they have learned through the process of planning and implementing the nutrition plan.
4.  Create blog entry – learners will compile the answers to these questions in the form of a blog entry that will be submitted to the instructor.

Overview:

Pre-instructional Activities:
The lesson will begin with a motivational activity to gain the learner’s interest.  The activity will begin with a short lecture about how blogs can help us to track our thinking process.

Content Presentation:
After the learners are logged in to the class, the rest of the activity is self-guided.  Learners will be able to download and print up a copy of the worksheet that they need to use in analyzing their nutrition analysis worksheets and nutrition plans.

Learner Participation:
Learners will answer the questions on their analysis worksheet.  Learners will then take everything they have learned so far and create a blog entry using the Moodle blog function.

Assessment:
The learner will demonstrate to the instructor that he/she is successful by completing all required elements on the Lesson 8 grading rubric.
