When we first came up with the idea of Self-Mapped Learning Pathways, it was called the “Dual-Layer MOOC” because it was a Massive Open Online Course that allowed learners to choose between two layers. This is a diagram I created to explain how that works in theory. The reality is a bit messier than this, so I also created a diagram to show that as well.
