Before the Lesson:
Print out one copy of the Web Site Analysis handout [PDF, 12 kb] for each student.

You will also need to prepare a short warm-up review of how blogs can help us to track our thinking proces. Also, be prepared to answer questions related to lesson content.

Instructional Steps:
1.  Review of how blogs can help us to track our thinking proces
2.  Analyze personal website – learners will answer questions on a worksheet to help them analyze their own web page.
3.  Analyze partner’s website – learners will identify three strengths and three areas for improvement in a partner’s web page.
4.  Create blog entry – learners will compile all analysis results into a blog entry that will be submitted to the instructor.

Overview:

Pre-instructional Activities:
The lesson will begin with a motivational activity to gain the learner’s interest.  The activity will begin with a short review of how blogs can help us to track our thinking process.

Content Presentation:
After the learners are logged in to the class, the rest of the activity is self-guided.  Learners will be able to download and print up a copy of the worksheet that they need to use in analyzing their web pages.

Learner Participation:
Learners will answer the questions on their analysis worksheet.  Learners will then take everything they have learned so far and create a blog entry using the Moodle blog function.

Assessment:
The learner will demonstrate to the instructor that he/she is successful by completing all required elements on the Lesson 12 grading rubric.
