Lesson 3: Analyze Exercise Plan
Lesson 4 »

Instructional Goal

Students will chart progress through exercise plan, analyzing it for effectiveness and making changes as needed.  Students will be given an exercise chart that allows them to chart progress through exercise plan.  Students will use information gained to update their personal exercise plan.

First Level Task Analysis

1.  Analyze exercise calendar
2.  Analyze partner’s exercise worksheet
3.  Update exercise plan

Domain of Learning

The type of objective for the overall learning goal for this instructional lesson is intellectual.  The learner will analyze their own exercise calendar, and then analyze a partner’s analysis paper for strengths and weaknesses.  Since this activity deals with exercise, the learners will also be looking at some past psychomotor activities.

Peer Evaluation

The goal statement was review by a peer who has experience in the field of health education studies.  She has been teaching both adults and children for the past few years.  As for education, my peer has a graduate degree in health education.  My peer was able to follow the first level task analysis of my lesson.  She generally suggested for all the lessons that students could benefit from more peer review of their work, so this lesson was another one that was revised to include peer review.  My peer also had a little trouble differentiating what was happening at each first level skill listed, so I tweaked these some to make them easier to understand.
