Project 3:
Developing and Elevator Speech
  1. Chimera Software
"Welcome to Chimera Software LLC!!! We are a software development and consultancy company specializing in open-source technology. Our goal is to bring new software possibilities to your organization especially when your budget is a priority."

    Analysis:
I think that this is short and clear.  I don't know if it is really descriptive "enough" to let a person know what they are buying, because that may depend on the person knowing what open-source really means.  But this will help the decision-maker know if this company will meet his or her needs.  I think anytime you mention budget, you will capture people’s attention.  This speech will be memorable because it takes budgetary concerns into account.

  2. Classroom Revolution
"With nearly 20 years of instructional experience, we offer our clients a unique blend of formal education, technical expertise in Web-based technologies and unmatched credibility in training. Providing high quality Moodle services such as fully managed Moodle hosting, is our first priority as we have demonstrated time and again with our diverse base of Moodle hosting, Moodle training, and Moodle support contract clients."

    Analysis:
This one does get a little long.  It may be a little hard to follow if the person listening is not really interested.  However, if the person listening is interested in Moodle, this statement will get their attention.  I think the length is a trade-off in getting to know what is being "bought" and if it meets needs.  I think that this one will be memorable when spoken to the correct person, although some of the details might get lost.

  3. Remote-learner.net
"remote-Learner.net (formerly Integrated Training Solutions) has been creating training, development and promotional multimedia projects for customers in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions since 1982. Our customers include small and large organizations, advertising firms, governmental entities and school districts. We understand budget constraints, quality assurance and project deadlines and strive to give each customer exemplary service."

    Analysis:
This one does get pretty long.  There is no doubt that it is descriptive enough for a person to know what they are buying and if this company will meet their needs.  It doesn’t really capture my attention, mainly because of the details.  It is also seems to not really add much originality to its mix, so that would make it hard to remember.  Once again, these are probably all a trade off to get in the details, which can be important in the right setting.

  4. moodle.com.au
"moodle.com.au is closely associated with Moodle development and offers quality hosting and support services to suit any size institution. We are also available for consulting and customised development and are now offering moodle training."

    Analysis:
Short and to the point, with no language that is hard to understand.  This one seems to hit a good balance between being descriptive enough to let the decision-maker know what they are getting and if their needs would be met, and with be short enough to capture attention and be memorable.

My elevator speech:
This is what I would use if I decided to make my web design business into a consultant firm:

"Monsoon River Designs is an internet design consulting company.  We specialize in dynamic, well-designed, functional sites that accurately reflect our clients' personality and enhance their business goals."
