How Much Does This Cost?

There are two price levels for all edX courses that offer certificates: Audit or Certificate Seeker.
The Audit track is free for anyone that registers. You can go through all of the course material and complete all of the assignments, even earning grades on most of them. However, you will not earn a certificate if you pass, and your assignments will either be automatically graded, or graded by other peers in the course rather than the instructor.
The Certificate Seeker will cost a small fee (see the course home page for the exact fee). Those that sign up for this option will need to achieve a passing score of at least 70% on all graded assignments (see the Syllabus tab at the top of the page for a list of all assignments). Your assignments will either be automatically graded by the system, or graded by the instructor using a posted rubric.
If you signed up for the Audit track, but wish to upgrade to the Certificate Seeker track, you can do so before the upgrade deadline. See the course home page for the upgrade deadline for this course.

Will I Be Graded?

Participants that sign up for the free Audit track will get grades on the test that are automatically graded, and any assignments that are peer or self-graded. These grades are for your own information, as you will not be earning a certificate for auditing the course.
Participants that pay for the Certificate Seeker track will be required to earn grades in order to receive a certificate. You will be required to earn an overall grade of 70% or higher to pass. You will receive automatic grades on the assessments and/or grades from the instructor on other assignments.
To see what assignments are graded, how points they are worth, and how your grade is calculated, click on the Syllabus tab above.

Since this is a three week course, you really should stay on top of any due dates. For certificate seekers, you will be expected to meet all deadlines in order to receive your grades.
Many of the due dates for various assignments will be listed next on the page of the assessment or assignment. For an overview of all due dates, please click on the "Syllabus" link at the top of the page.

All of the courses within the UTAx Learning Analytics Series are three weeks in length, except for the introductory foundations course which is 4 weeks long.
When you start the course on Week 1, you will notice there is also a Week 0. This is not an actual week, but a place to learn about this course, edX, and your fellow participants. You may go through what you need in Week 0 as you need it.
