Transportation To Hotels
For your overall planning purposes, Stanford recommends the following:
- Public Transit (bus and train)
- Airports (San Francisco, San Jose Mineta, Oakland)
- Maps (campus, bus, area)
Getting To / From Airports
Unfortunately, none of the hotels provide transportation to or from the airport. All hotels have recommended two services: Super Shuttle or Silicon Valley Airporter.
- Super Shuttle/Silicon Valley Airporter’s websites quotes about 120 dollars to send 8 people from the SFO Airport to any of the hotels.
- Taxi Estimate: $82.00
- Uber Estimate: $51.00 – $68.00
Public Transportation To / From Airports
The best suggestion is to use Google Maps once you arrive, enter in your hotel, and use the Transit option to see what the exact times for the trains and buses are after you arrive. However, the following general information will be helpful:

- At the stop of the specific Caltrain Station, exit the BART and walk to the Caltrain Station
- At the Caltrain Station, board the Southbound Train towards Palo Alto Caltrain Station
- At the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, exit the train
- This trip should cost you approximately $9.50.
Public Transportation from the SJC Airport:
- After arriving at SJC head towards Terminal B to get onto the 10 train towards Santa Clara
- At the Railroad (SCTC) and Transit Loop stop, exit the bus and walk towards the Santa Clara Caltrain Station (1 minute walk)
- At the Santa Clara Caltrain Station, board the Northbound Train towards Palo Alto Caltrain Station
- At the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, exit the train
- This trip should cost you approximately $7.25.
